I joined today and this is my first post. I am most interested in retirement planning right now and look forward to becoming a valued member of this forum. The first book (and only book so far) that I ever red about retirement planning was The Bogleheads' Guide to Retirement Planning. I admit that I only started thinking seriously about retirement planning this year, and I have only spent a few days total doing the work. I have more work to do before I can confidently say that I have a solid plan to act on.

I am posting because I would like to know what Bogleheads think about the book The Case for Dividend Growth: Investing in a Post-Crisis World by David Bahnsen. He claims it is an investment strategy that offers growth, income, and growth-of-income and that it counters stock price volatility. I searched the forum and the wiki. I failed to find anything. Sorry if I missed a trick.

I thought reading the book might help me get inside the head of this "Chief Investment Officer" of The Bahnsen Group. What makes him tick? His group of Private Wealth Advisors appeals to me. One item on my planning list is to look for a Christian financial planner and fee-only fiduciary (RIA only) to manage my nest egg. I am checking out his group. I have big questions. When can I retire? How can I impact the people and causes I care about? I need help articulating my financial objectives and building a plan. I need conversation, advice, and guidance. I want help evaluating my cash flow needs, taxes, inflation, volatility, and portfolio returns. I need help taking steps one-by-one to achieve my financial goals.
