Personal Investments • 2025 changes to our bond allocation?

We are in our mid 30s. Our IPS called for 10% bonds. I rebalanced in our 401ks a few months ago to get us back to a 10% bond allocation in FXNAX (Fidelity US Bond Index). We have no bonds in taxable or our Roth IRAs.

We have a pretty standard menu of funds to choose from at Capital Group:

FXNAX (Fidelity US Bond Index) - ER - 0.03%
RBFGX (Bond Fund of America) - ER - 0.24%
RILFX (Inflation Linked Bond Fund) - ER 0.29%
RBOGX (Intermediate Bond Fund) - ER 0.25%
RGVGX (US Govt Security Fund) - ER 0.25%

I am not convinced a "total" bond fund like FXNAX is a good idea for us. Maybe it's recency bias with how they've been behaving in the last few years.

Of our options available from Capital Group, are any of these worth switching into? RILFX (Inflation Linked Bond Fund) seems the closest to a TIPS fund, which I see has been recommended on here. But the ER is much higher than the index fund.

Is there any reason to look at putting some sort of bonds in taxable?
