About us:
Emergency funds – $20,000.
Debt - Mortgage $140,000 @ 1.99% 7 years to go
SS $61,632
Tax filing status - Married filing together.
State of Residence - Mich
Age - 74, spouse - 75.
Desired Asset Allocation - 65 stocks, 35 % bonds.
Desired International allocation - Not sure.
Current Tax bracket - federal - 12% stste 0% as long as distrubutions are below $50,000
Total Vanguard accounts $875,247
SS covers all expenses
10 Years ago after i left Amerprise I set up my account at 60/40 using
VFIAX 500 INDEX and VTSAX Total Stock / VBTLX Total bond and VTASX total international bond
I have never rebalanced this account and now (even afer distributions form the stock holdings The account is
80/20
VFIAX $264,160 ~39%
VTSAX $287,996 ~40%
VBTLX $98,013 ~14%
VTBAX $28,135 ~4%
Total $678,458
I'M looking for ideas to go 65/35 using ETF's and keeping positions to a minimum.
The DW wifes account is still at 60/40
VTSAX $119,105 ~60%
VBTLX $77,768 ~40%
I dont plan to change this account.
