As I understand the process, I should have received dividends from Ascensus but did not.
The facts:
-I initiated transfer of i401k from Ascensus to Schwab in November, using ascensus' "deconversion" form.
-Confirmed receipt of form on 11/27/24 and was told it would take three weeks to process.
-On 12/6/24 confirmed that transfer was in process and liquidation would occur on 12/30/24 (but instead happened ten days sooner).
-Ascensus employer account shows transfer out on 12/20/24, or as the Ascensus CSR said, the account was "in liquidation process."
-The check was not cut until 12/26/24. The check was solely for the share amount and does not included dividends. Balance in the Ascensus account is now zero.
-The ex-dividend date was 12/20/24; record date 12/19/24; pay date 12/23/24.
My understanding that if a share is "sold" on the ex-dividend date, the "seller" received the dividend. In that case it would be my account/Ascensus. Is that correct?
