I wanted to take advantage of my losses with EDV (Vanguard Extended Duration Treasury Index Fund ETF Shares) in my taxable account. So I sold them at a loss today (12/31/2024). Now I had forgotten that you can't buy them within 30 days before and after your sale date. I thought it was only after, not before. See, what I also have in my retirement account is GOVZ with dividends used to purchase more shares. So there was a transaction of a few shares within 30 days before today. Plus I may have bought some when it bottomed at 9.7.
GOVZ is iShares 25+ Year Treasury STRIPS Bond ETF. These are all zero-coupon bonds called "U.S. Treasury Bond Stripped Principal Payment 0%."
Are these considered "substantially identical?" I tested at Fund Overlap and surprisingly there is no overlap at all: 0%.
