I just got my 2025 Notice of Assessment for my property and it jumped 9% from last year. Since 2015, the rates were in the 2-3% range. The property value is calculated by the LAND VALUE and the value of IMPROVEMENTS on the property. The land value increased 16k but the value of improvements increased 225k. We did not make any structural changes to this property.
A few questions:
1. Are other folks seeing the same type of increase? We live in the Wash DC area.
2. How does the value of IMPROVEMENTS jump when we did not make any changes to the property?
3. Has anyone tried appealing with good results?
