My Traditional IRA with Vanguard used to have Prime Money Market as the cash option/sweep account. Same with my Roth IRA.
Then they both switched the cash option to Federal Money Market Fund.
Now I discover another option, Vanguard Cash Deposit, is available in the Traditional IRA but I never received any notification/explanation about this. The site references FDIC insurance with this option but does not make it clear that is automatic.
Meanwhile my Audacy 401K managed by Vanguard has no cash option at all.
Among options it lists Prime Money Market but says that option is “closed.”
WTF is going on! Vanguard is no longer the transparent and upfront company it used to be when Jack Bogle run the place. Why all the mysterious, secretive switcheroo’s with no notice or explanation of what’s going on.
When you call Vanguard now all you get is a long wait, then a kid who answers, asks you for your name,address, favorite sport, mother’s maiden name, secret handshake then says he’ll transfer you to another kid who goes through all the same bullshit and transfers your call again.
These kids don’t know an F’in thing about anything.
