I have been slowly losing my hair over the years, a hair transplant is an option I've considered to deal with the situation.
I reached out for some quotes and was told I would need two procedures (one for the top and one for the front) with a possibility of another one down the road. The average total quote for the two procedures is 24k. This was quite a bit more than I anticipated. I know there is an overseas option is less but would not be comfortable having a surgical procedure so far from home. In any event, this high price tag has me second guessing this option. Curious to know if anyone of you out there has had this procedure and if you were happy with the results.
Other alternatives include a hair system (aka toupee) or just buzz it and be done with it. I think my main concern is ageism. While my current employer has no issue with my appearance as I work remotely, I figure the hair could be an issue if I go to look for a job in my 40s as I hear that ageism can be an issue in my field of employment (tech).
What's the Bogleheads approach to this? Buzz it and be done with it? I've also thought about maintaining the status quo (i.e. cut it every 6 weeks or so and wear hats).
