Personal Investments • Russel 2500 approximation with Vanguard

Hi all,

My 401k options are pretty limited, but I have Large equity (basically S&P 500) and Small equity (everything but the top 500 - basically tracking the Russel 2500 index), which is good enough, I guess. So those (along with some bonds and international) have become the pillars of my asset allocation.

To better implement said asset allocation (across all household accounts), I'm also looking for something similar on Vanguard. VOO is basically identical to the aforementioned "Large equity", but I couldn't find a Vanguard fund that would do the job for the "Small equity" (VB - the small caps index, tracks the bottom 15%, so basically missing the 80-85 percentile mid-cap, since VOO is about 80% of the total market). I know it's not such a big deal, but it still bugs the perfectionist in me (since despite the strong correlation between VB and Russel 2500, they are obviously performing differently)...

I was wondering if any of you wise Bogleheads have encountered and solve my "problem" before.

Thanks!
