Retired with spouse. I'm new to this board. My work experience was in real estate redevelopment, not the stock market. Having found this board has been a God Send. I've now altered our entire investment style, etc.
Signed up with Vanguard a few months ago but became uncomfortable with a few incidents while there. I just sold advisory accounts and have the proceeds parked in money market there. Due to recent California fires, I may not be able to focus on transferring funds elsewhere for a few more weeks. Honestly, I've become paranoid about protecting our money, since the total proceeds exceed Vanguard's insurance and FDIC.
Should I chill and rest easy with our money market funds at Vanguard a few weeks longer or should I think about moving them immediately elsewhere to HYSA, CDs, Laddered Inflation Protected TIPs, etc. In other words, getting them into actual investments for the fixed assets side of our Bogle strategy.
What are your suggestions: sit tight a few more weeks OR move them ASAP into actual investments?
Thanks in advance for any response. Cal
