Appreciate this forum and its members for the wealth of knowledge — I have learned so much! I'm torn between 3 health insurance plans and I'd love to get additional insights/advice. I'm based in CA.
Option 1: Cigna Choice Fund with HSA Plan
Option 1: Cigna Choice Fund with HSA Plan
- Provider network: Cigna Open Access Plus
- Bi-weekly paycheck deductions: $14.5
- Deductible: $1,600 (in-network), $2,500 (out-of-network)
- Employer's HSA contribution: $750
- Coinsurance after deductible: plan pays 90% (in-network)
- Out-of-pocket max: $2,600
- have HSA, employer contributes $750
- Covers egg freezing after meeting deductible
- High deductible. I predict I'll need to see a doctor more often this year
- I'm currently on this plan and it's been hard to see a doctor in a timely manner but this could be because I was used to Kaiser (often next day appointments)
- Behavior change: I can see myself not seeing a doctor as often to save on out-of-pocket costs
- Provider network: Cigna Open Access Plus, pay less with Tier 1 specialists
- Bi-weekly paycheck deductions: $15
- Coinsurance: plan pays 100%
- Co-pay: $20-$40
- Out-of-pocket max: $2,000
- Covers egg freezing after meeting deductible
- No deductible
