I thought that Chase had restrictions that were something like no more than X charge cards opened within the past 4 (?) years.
We were hoping to have DH sign up for a new Chase card using a "referral" from me. This would give him something like 75k points (or 60k depending upon timing) and get me an extra <much smaller amount> for making the referral.
However, it seems that the fine print states he can't get the "new card points" until 4 years after he's gotten a bonus. It's been 2 or 3 years since he cancelled his Chase card (for which he got points when he opened it), and he has not opened any new cards since then.
Is this new, or have I overlooked the fact that getting a new-card with a bonus is different from opening a new card without a bonus? I thought most of this revolved around getting nore awards points. No?
Thanks!
RM
