I will soon be having a bathroom remodeled so for several weeks we will need to have workers in the house.
This will be the first time I have had workers in the house for more than a few hours at a time so I was wondering how you handle securing your stuff when you have workers in the house for longer periods of time.
We don't have a lot of valuables other than just some basic jewelry, cameras, and small electronics which we will obviously secure and hide those as much as possible but there is also a lot of other general "stuff" which I don't know what to do with. I was considering putting a keyed lock on the door to the home office and they should not need to be in that room.
Even with the known valuables secured there will still be a lot of small stuff and household goods which are in the unsecured part of the house.
Even if we are home and one of us is in the front of the house there is no way to keep an eye on what they are doing back in the bedroom and office area.
We also know of one day when we will both need to be out at the same time for a doctors appointment one morning so don't know if I could leave them in the house alone or tell the contractor that they cannot be in the house then.
How do you handle having workers be in your house for an extended period of time?
