Non-US Investing • Finances for US expats in Ireland

I hope this is the right forum. Didn't seem right for the non-US forum, because this is about US citizens.

My sister's wife just obtained Irish citizenship (so she is dual Irish/US) and they are planning to move to Ireland. My sister is US citizen, can get permanent residence after 5 years living in Ireland. Wife was floored when told by her advisor at Merrill Lynch that he could no longer handle her retirement and brokerage account when she moves overseas. Since I am the family go-to on finances, she asked me for help in figuring out how to get the advice they need about handling each of their retirement/brokerage accounts - how to access money, how to handle taxes. They each have social security, wife has state pension and my sister has a US federal pension (I think, probably FERS). They are in early 70s, and are planning this to be a permanent move. They have pets, so no interest in living 6 months Ireland/6 months US. If they wanted to use my home as a US address, they could.

Is there an obvious US brokerage company they should/can deal with? If they need to get an advisor to help them with, what kind of advisor are they looking for? Thanks for any advice and direcion you all can give.
