We are a married couple, 59F & 63M, that created a will eight years ago. I have Adult children from previous marraige.
Our financial picture is different from those days. For one, if we died today the estate would incur State Estate tax. (never in my wildest imagination thought that could be the case)
1) If we go with the same attorney, will it be a less costly update or a whole new willl?
2) If we go with a different attorney, will it be an update or whole new will?
3) Should we wait until one or both retire in a year or two?
4) The original atty poopooed the idea of any type of verbage protecting the financial interest my children, when I brought it up. Is this really OK? I can't shake the thought of my wife remarrying(great), her dying, he and his kids getting the money and my kids nothing.(not so great)
