A relative and I were walking in the city and she slipped and fell in front of a mega chain hotel and broke her leg. A group of very kind strangers who saw it happen helped called 911 and we got her to the hospital where she eventually underwent surgery and is now recovering.
At the time of the fall, before the ambulance arrived, a security person from the hotel came out to ask if we were okay and took down our info.
Today she received a call/email from an “adjuster of claims services” employed by megachain hotel asking if everything is okay. I assume this person’s trying to head off litigation.
Does anybody have any experience with settling this without an attorney?
How did you quantify what to ask for and how did you ask?
