Considering selling my house by owner - market is fairly strong where we live with limited inventory in our 300-400K price range. In no rush as we are moving across town and can swing buying new place without $ from old place.
With the new rules for commissions taking effect this week what is the best strategy to do a for sale by owner? What if we pay a discount service to list our home in MLS and state in listing: sales price includes no commission; any buyer’s agent’s commission is to be negotiated by buyer’s agent directly with their buying client. Do you think that would work? If we get any calls by realtors with potential buyers should we allow them to accompany their buyers to see house? Should we make the realtor sign a notice we will not pay them a commission or is that unnecessary?
