Personal Finance (Not Investing) • DW's health is improving: When to lock in best term life insurance rate?

For a long time now, my DW's health has prevented her from qualifying for life insurance due to weight.

Economically, she not the primary income earner and we don't have kids so life insurance is more of a nice to have vs. an economic necessity.

In the past year, she had lost a lot of weight and while on BP meds, her BP is is the healthy range currently and her doctor is thinking that there is a possibility she will begin try to come off her BP meds eventually.

My question is that I am thinking we would like to lock in the best possible rate class for her coverage but I was trying to figure out the specific numbers that we should shoot for before applying. There seem to be general guidelines, but I was wondering if there was more specific guidance so we can get a sense of when it may make sense to buy coverage.
