We are going to Southern Africa with a combo of Victoria Falls, Capetown and a couple of places for game viewing ( Chobe National Park and Malamala reserve).
We would like to get a zoom lens for pictures. We have an8-yr old Olympus Micro 4/3rds that we have not used very much. We usually brought it on vacations but we used our iphones almost exclusively.
But for close up pictures of wild animals, we will just have to put up with some equipment. My questions are:
1. Is my Olympus OM-D E-M10 still adequate?
2. If yes, what kind of zoom lens (say 100-400mm) should I get? I did a quick search and the Olympus lens is about $1200.
3. If no, what are the essential features of the newer camera?
4. Is it worth the investment as we probably won’t use whatever we bought very often in the future?
Thanks in advance.
