Dear Bogleheads,
Why is it that, when I check the performance of VTI against VTSAX (the ETF and MF forms of the same fund), VTI always shows as having slightly better performance, regardless of the time interval?
For example, as of checking just now...
past 5 years: VTI up 89.88%; VTSAX up 88.93%
past 1 year: VTI up 33.24%; VTSAX up 32.56%
past 6 months: VTI up 15.53%; VTSAX up 14.89%
past 1 month: VTI up 3.62%; VTSAX up 3.10%
past 5 days: VTI up 1.42%; VTSAX up 0.84%
Doubtless I'm missing some very obvious explanation.....
