Personal Finance (Not Investing) • Is it ever worth paying more to have an HSA?

I’m changing employers and am comparing health insurance options. They offer an HSA eligible plan but all in it is net about $1k more expensive per year after considering the more expensive premium offset by tax savings on HSA contributions compared to the low deductible plan.

I have had HSA plans for over 10 years with two different employers and this is the first time I’ve seen an HSA plan cost more than a low deductible plan even after factoring in paying the full deductible.

Is there a formula to figure out how much more one is willing to pay, if anything, for the triple tax advantage of an HSA?
