Just recently attempted to add a bank to my decades old Vanguard account. Just wanting to do a transfer of funds to Vanguard.
Bank is in system to auto-populate in their search, asks for my information, connects to bank, and says it doesn't recognize anything. Input information triple checked. No instructions to call the bank, it's not an ACH transfer, nothing. So I go around the bend the other way and find a I have to submit letterhead paperwork to them.
Went to other brokerage I use, added bank in 60 seconds or less, confirmation of request. Done.
Is there a business advantage for Vanguard to make it difficult to transfer funds to them?
My experience completely eliminated them receiving my funds. Wonder how many others have done the same?
