Hello,
I posted shortly after filing our taxes that our accountant had made quite a few mistakes on our 2023 taxes. So much aggravation but I am trying to move forward.
After bringing all of our issues to her attention in the beginning of May, she said the amendment would have to be mailed, which I found hard to believe. I checked with another accountant as well as the IRS website, which states the amendment can be filed electronically. I was told amendments can be filed electronically for 2021, 2022 and 2023.
Are there any reasons that would require an amendment to be mailed vs electronic filing.
Thanks for any input or advice.
