I m currently staying at my company solely for flexibility. They have been mandating 3days in office for a year now but office morale is at all time low at only 10% of those that supposed to be in the office actually shows up. I go in once a week and my team is remote so usually I m there by myself on calls. About 50% of the company are actually in different geo so remote by design. To go to the office it’s 1hr+ commute each way and $80 in commute + beforecare cost. At the same time the companies have been are reducing benefits, merit raises and bonuses so we are all very bitter.
I know a lot of companies are checking badge swipes. Just curious to see if companies are legitimately firing employees for this. We already had a round of RIF and it’s a small company so I truly think if they do more massive firing it will hinder their ability to operate.
